Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 1, 2026

Join Party Games ("we", "us") operates joinpartygames.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what data we handle and how. We aim to collect as little as possible — we don't require accounts and we don't sell user data.

What we collect

  • Display name & avatar config you enter to play a game. Stored locally in your browser via localStorage. Sent to our real-time game server (PartyKit) only while you're in a room, so other players can see who you are.
  • Chat messages and game actions (guesses, strokes, reactions, nudges). Stored in-memory on the PartyKit server only for the duration of the game. Not written to any database. Discarded when the room is idle.
  • A randomly generated player id we store in your browser so you keep your score across refreshes. It's not linked to any other identifier.
  • Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) at the hosting layer (Vercel and PartyKit), used for security and abuse prevention. Logs are automatically rotated and not used for advertising profiling by us.

What we don't collect

  • Email addresses (no signup).
  • Phone numbers.
  • Payment information.
  • Real names, addresses, or contact information.

Cookies and similar tech

We use localStorage to remember your name, avatar, player id, sound preference, and ad-display preference between visits. These are first-party only and don't leave your device.

Third-party services

We rely on the following third parties to operate the Site:

Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we'll remove it.

Your rights

You can clear all locally stored data at any time by clearing your browser's site data for joinpartygames.com, or by opening Devtools > Application > Local Storage and removing entries prefixed with ppg-.

For GDPR / CCPA requests or any privacy question, email hello@joinpartygames.com.

Changes

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance.
